WHAT IS LEAN SIGMA
Lean Sigma combines the thinking of both lean and six sigma to deliver bottom line cost savings. This is achieved through quality improvements and compliance (sigma) and reducing waste from processes (lean)

The aim of this program is to provide the knowledge and skills to consider is lean sigma for you and your organisation and its benefits.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is aimed at personnel who either work in an organisation that utilises lean and six sigma or would like to learn more, or for personnel considering deploying lean sigma. It is a course designed to demystify lean sigma.
REQUISITES This is an introduction to lean sigma with no prior experience required

Session 2 Philosophy of leansigma
Session 3 Leansigma methodology
Session 4 Identify the seven sources of waste
Session 5 Lean and six sigma tools - Problem statement, Process Map, 5 Why analysis, Cause and Effect diagram, Pareto chart, Run chart , Value stream map, 5s, Mistake proofing, Single Minute Exchange of Dies
Session 6 Define key components of deploying leansigma
Session 7 Roles and responsibilities of a Black Belt and Greenbelt
Session 8 Assessment of Learning
ASSESSMENT
On completion of training, trainees will complete a short multiple choice exam.
ABOUT THE TRAINER
The trainer for this course is Maria Ryan, who is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and Level 6 FETAC certified trainer. Maria has 15 years industrial experience within the Aerospace, Chemical, Medical Device and Pharmaceutical environments. Within these industries, she has worked in varying roles including Design and Manufacturing Engineer, Six Sigma Black Belt, Continuous Improvement Manager, Quality Manager and Process Excellence Leader. On completion of training, trainees are motivated to apply learning on return to the workplace. This is achieved through practical application of tools coupled with Maria’s high energy and passion for superior performance.
